Chinatowns were initially formed as a place where Chinese immigrants could celebrate their culture, as well as live and work in their communities without discrimination or language barriers. The first one popped up in the U.S. in San Francisco in 1848 and has since become a huge part of the tourism industry in several other cities across the country. The many festivals, colorful shops, and authentic food attract droves of visitors hoping to get a taste of the orient without shipping off to the mainland. Four Seasons Resort Maui is hosting an exclusive event featuring the World Famous Red Violin and Opus One Wines during the Wailea Wine & Food Festival, December 6-9 as part of the resort's 'Unforgettable Events' series. Master Executive Chef Stettler has created a menu that traces the path of the Red Violin, with pairings by Opus One for each course. Morro Bay Hosts First Central Coast Oyster Festival

Morro Bay is a small town of 10,000 on California’s Central Coast, located about halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. It’s best known for its giant seaside rock, which was formed 23 million years ago from the plugs of extinct volcanoes.
